Ecosystems
Ecosystems.
This is a coral reef.
Have a look a this youtube link about coral reefs. It is a little bit pixelated, but I still think it is worth seeing.

I also include the transcription of this interesting video, so that you can listen and read:
Activities:
1. Make a list of the different links in the food chain of coral reefs:
Producers (they produce food): Algae, plankton (phytoplankton).
Primary consumers (herbivores or plant-eaters):
Secondary consumers (carnivores or animal-eaters):
Scavenger (it feeds on dead organic matter):
2. Producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers and animals like the parrotfish or the sea cucumber are very important in the ecological balance of the coral reef ecosystem.
Explain why and what they do to keep this balance.
3. Can you make a food web about the coral ecosystem? Search on the internet about decomposers. You can also add other examples of primary and secondary consumers or scavengers.
